Google Adwords is a very effective PPC platform to reach Japanese online consumers. According to a survey by goo Research, 68.3% of Japanese respondents said they had clicked on an advert in the past.
The survey shows that 41.3% look at adverts, and another 15.9% look at them at every search. Therefore a majority of Japanese consumers regularly check advertising on Google.
Moreover the survey also reveals that, among those who clicked, banner advertisements were most popular (46.7%), followed by affiliate links in review articles (30.3%), text links in reviews (28.3%), contextual advertisement in blogs and articles (26.6%), and links in newsletters (25.7%).
This study shows that Google Adwords is doing very well and if you’re really serious about targeting Japanese customers, it seems to be a very effective way to reach Japanese consumers. Additionally, using the Google Display Network, you could reach users all over the web in Japan.
